Verdict: the Morphy Richards Autoclean Intellitemp SteamPro 332103 is the brand’s most powerful steam generator, and the best one it makes for mixed family laundry. It pairs 7 bar of pressure and a 600g steam boost with Intellitemp, a single temperature that Morphy Richards guarantees will not burn any ironable fabric, so you never touch a dial. AutoClean handles limescale with no cartridges to buy. The weak points are a descale cycle that needs the base fully cold, a 1.8m cord, and a two-year guarantee (three if you register) on an expensive machine. If you can stretch further, the Philips PerfectCare 7000 does the same job with a stronger owner record and descaling that is a simple drain-and-refit.
Morphy Richards sells three families of steam generator. The 7 bar SteamPro sits at the top, the Power Steam Elite in the middle and the EasySteam+ at the bottom. The 332103 is the SteamPro with Intellitemp, and it is the model we rank first in our Morphy Richards steam generator guide. It is also one of the best-selling steam generators at Amazon UK. This review explains what you get for the extra money over the 332102, where it falls short, and which rivals to consider.
A note on the steam figures. Morphy Richards lists 160g/min of continuous steam and a 600g boost. Currys lists 140g/min, and the Amazon UK listing title says 70 to 120g/min with a 590g boost. The steam is adjustable, so these probably describe different settings. We use the manufacturer’s figures, but treat continuous steam as roughly 140 to 160g/min.

Steam and crease removal. 7 bar is the most pressure Morphy Richards puts in any steam generator, and the 600g boost is three times the boost of a normal steam iron and nearly double the 310g of the older Power Steam Elite 332013. Owners at Amazon UK consistently describe a huge burst of steam, creases gone in one pass, and good results on denim and thick cotton. Several call it the best steam generator they have owned. The steam comes in three levels, so you can drop to eco for a few shirts and keep the boost for bedding.
Intellitemp. This is what you pay for over the 332102. Instead of a temperature dial, the iron runs at a single setting that Morphy Richards says is safe for every ironable fabric, and the company guarantees it will not burn your clothes. In practice that means you can move from a silk blouse to jeans without waiting for the plate to cool or heat. It is the same idea as Philips OptimalTEMP and Bosch i-Temp, at a lower price. One trade-off: some owners find the plate does not feel as hot as a manual iron on cotton, and a few say it is not quite hot enough for heavy linen. The steam makes up for most of that.
The iron and the base. Because the water lives in the base, the iron itself is light, and owners repeatedly say it feels easy on the wrist even over a long session. The whole unit is another matter: about 4.4kg, and big enough to take up a fair amount of an ironing board. You will want a board with a solid rest or a steam-generator board; see our steam generator board guide. The 1.6L tank lifts out to fill, there is an empty-tank light, and the carry lock holds the iron to the base for moving and storing. The cord is 1.8m, shorter than many rivals, so you may need an extension lead.
AutoClean and the descale wait. AutoClean removes limescale with no filter or cartridge to replace. A light comes on after roughly every 5 litres; you switch off, let it cool, and the machine flushes itself. Owners like that there is no holding the iron over a sink. The catch, mentioned by several heavy users, is that the cycle will only run when the unit is fully cold, which can mean a wait of an hour or more. One owner returned it for this reason alone. If you iron a lot in one sitting, plan to descale at the start of a session rather than in the middle. Morphy Richards also recommends mixing tap water half and half with distilled or demineralised water, and says poor maintenance can void the guarantee.
Reliability. Most owner reviews are very positive, but there is a consistent minority of failures: the generator stopping steaming, spitting hot water after a couple of years, and in a few cases the control panel going dead. Amazon’s own summary of owner reviews flags durability as a concern. The guarantee is two years, extended to three if you register, so register it the day it arrives.
What owners mention. Praise centres on steam power, a light iron, speed through a pile, and descaling without fuss. Complaints are the cooling wait before AutoClean, pump noise while steaming, the size of the base, and failures soon after the guarantee ends.
- 7 bar and a 600g boost, the strongest in the Morphy Richards range
- Intellitemp: no temperature changes for any ironable fabric
- AutoClean with no cartridges or filters
- Light iron, large 1.6L removable tank
- Carry lock and auto shut-off
- AutoClean only runs when the base is fully cold
- Short 1.8m cord
- Large, heavy base
- Audible pump noise
- Minority of failures after about two years
Our verdict: Families with mixed laundry who want strong steam and never want to think about temperature settings.
Cheaper twin
Morphy Richards Autoclean Speed SteamPro 332102: Cheaper twin

- Continuous steam: 160g/min
- Boost: 400g
- Tank: 1.6L
The same 7 bar base and 1.6L tank with a manual dial and a 400g boost. Better value if you are happy to set the temperature yourself.

Morphy Richards Power Steam Elite Plus 332013: Bigger tank
- Pressure: 6.5 bar
- Continuous steam: 200g/min

Main rival
Philips PerfectCare 7000 PSG7300: Main rival
- Pressure: 8.5 bar

SteamPro 332103 vs 332102 vs Power Steam Elite 332013
| SteamPro 332103 | SteamPro 332102 | Power Steam Elite 332013 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pressure | 7 bar | 7 bar | 6.5 bar |
| Continuous steam | 160g/min | 160g/min | 200g/min |

| Temperature | Intellitemp (automatic) | Manual dial | Manual dial |
| Descaling | AutoClean | AutoClean | AutoClean |
| Price tier | £££ | £££ | ££ |
The 332102 is the same 7 bar machine with a normal temperature dial and a smaller 400g boost. If you are happy to set the temperature yourself and mostly iron cotton, it is the better value. The 332013 is older and cheaper, with a bigger tank and more continuous steam on paper but a much weaker boost; our 332013 review covers it in full. Choose the 332103 if you iron a mix of delicates and cottons and want the strongest boost Morphy Richards sells.
SteamPro 332103 vs Philips PerfectCare 7000
The Philips is the obvious rival. Both are high-pressure steam generators with one automatic temperature (Philips calls it OptimalTEMP, with a no-burn guarantee) and big removable tanks. Both also need the base unplugged and cooled before descaling. The difference is in how: Philips Easy De-Calc is a plug you remove to drain the scale into a sink, while Morphy Richards AutoClean runs a flush cycle once the base is cold. The Philips usually costs more, and owner reviews of it mention fewer failures. The Morphy Richards gives a slightly stronger boost for less money. If budget allows, we would buy the Philips; if not, the 332103 is the best automatic-temperature steam generator at its price. Getting the best from the SteamPro
- Register it straight away for the third year of guarantee. It is the cheapest insurance you will get on a steam generator.
- Mix your water half tap and half distilled or demineralised, as Morphy Richards recommends. Never use scented ironing water.
- Descale at the start of a session. AutoClean needs a cold base, so when the light comes on, do the cycle before your next pile rather than in the middle of it.
- Let the steam settle. Wait for the ready light before pressing the steam trigger, especially after refilling, to avoid spits.
- Give the base a stable home. A board with a solid steam-generator rest stops the 4kg base tipping. See boards for steam generators.
- Clean the soleplate with a damp cloth when cool. Our steam generator cleaning guide has the full routine.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Morphy Richards SteamPro 332103 worth buying?
Yes, if you want strong steam and automatic temperature for less than the Philips equivalents. It has 7 bar, a 600g boost, Intellitemp and AutoClean. The drawbacks are a descale cycle that needs a cold base, a 1.8m cord and a two-year guarantee (three with registration).
What is the difference between the Morphy Richards 332102 and 332103?
Both are 7 bar SteamPro steam generators with a 1.6L tank and AutoClean. The 332103 adds Intellitemp automatic temperature and a bigger 600g boost; the 332102 has a manual dial and a 400g boost.
What is Morphy Richards Intellitemp?
Intellitemp is a single, fixed ironing temperature that Morphy Richards says is safe for all ironable fabrics. You do not change settings between fabrics, and the company guarantees it will not burn your clothes.
How does Morphy Richards AutoClean work on the 332103?
A light comes on after roughly every 5 litres of water. You switch the machine off, let the base cool completely, and then start the cycle, which flushes limescale out on its own. There are no cartridges or filters to buy.
How long is the guarantee on the Morphy Richards SteamPro?
Two years as standard, plus a third year if you register the product with Morphy Richards. Keep the water mix and descaling routine in the manual, because Morphy Richards says poor maintenance can invalidate the guarantee.
Can I use tap water in the Morphy Richards SteamPro?
Morphy Richards recommends a 50:50 mix of tap water and distilled, deionised or demineralised water, and never more than half tap water. Do not use scented ironing water.
