How IronsExpert makes money
As an Amazon Associate, IronsExpert earns from qualifying purchases. When you click a link to Amazon UK on this site and buy something, Amazon pays us a small percentage of the sale. You pay the same as you would by going to Amazon directly; the commission comes out of Amazon’s margin.
Amazon Associates is currently the only affiliate programme we belong to. We have no other affiliate, advertising or referral arrangements. If that changes, we will update this page and say so.
How our Amazon links are marked
Every link to Amazon on this site carries our Associates tracking tag, which is how Amazon knows the sale came from us. Each of those links is also marked rel="sponsored", so search engines can see it is commercial. We do not hide, shorten or redirect affiliate links through our own domain.
Does commission affect what we recommend?
No. Amazon sets its commission rate by product category, not by brand or model, so we earn the same rate whichever steam iron or steam generator you choose from a guide. There is no financial reason for us to push one product over another.
We do not accept free samples, review units, sponsored posts or paid placements. Brands cannot pay to appear in a guide, move up a ranking or have a review changed.
How we choose the products we cover
We shortlist models on sale from major UK retailers, then compare them on published specifications, independent test results from UK consumer publications and large samples of verified owner reviews, including the critical ones. Our reviews and guides are research-based: we do not run a testing laboratory and we never present research as a hands-on test. Reporting errors
Specifications change, models are discontinued and we sometimes get things wrong. If you spot a mistake or a link that no longer points to the right product, please contact us. We check every report, correct the page where needed, and note material corrections on the page with a date.
